Our next Textile Recycling Workshops & Community Making Days at Disability Direct Nottingham

Tiger Green Textiles – recycling workshops – next one Saturday 22 October 10.30am – 1.30pm.

We have been running Textile Recycling Workshops with Disability Direct Nottingham at Old Basford Community Centre. We’ve had loads of fabrics donated, we’ve taught some people to sew and we’ve made some lovely crafts.

Why not come and join us at our next workshops:

Saturday 22 October – 10.30am – 1.30pm – Workshop

Tuesday 25 October – 9.30am – 4.30pm – Community Making Day

Tuesday 1 November – 9.30am – 4.30pm – Community Making Day

Venue:                 Disability Direct Nottingham, Old Basford Community Centre, Bramble Close, NG6 0QG

The project takes donated clothing, fabrics and haberdashery and gives them a new lease of life. Working as a team, the workshops provide an opportunity for people of all abilities and skill levels to make wonderful products which will then be sold to support the project.

Community Making Days

We are going to be joined by staff from VF Northern, based at Calverton and NG2, as part of their Timberland Community Day. Our challenge over the 2 days is to turn as much of the fabric that has been donated into crafts and gifts. You are welcome to come along and take part, whether it’s for an hour or all day - all abilities and skills welcome.

You can:

v  Learn a new life skill

v  Share your skills

v  Make new friends

v  Help to give discarded clothing and fabrics a new lease of life

v  Have fun!

We will be making a range of craft items and it will be a team effort – so creative ideas are welcome.

We are looking for project supporters and would welcome donations of clothing, fabrics, haberdashery and anything else that we can recycle into something new, or even a sewing machine. Get in touch with Toni for more information – toni@tigerprojects.co.uk
